Google results can impact Indian election results. Have they?

Among the group shown pro-Gandhi rankings, his support increased by 26.5 percent. For Kejriwal, the increase was 11.3 percent, for Modi 9.1 percent. (Each experimental group was the same size, in part to minimize any potential effect on the election itself).

It seems that Google has a greater influence for people who are reading positive things about the guy who’s loosing. It’s almost like, people want to believe that Rahul Gandhi is a good guy and only if he gets some positive coverage, he might just win.

The question is, have Google algorithm unknowingly favored one candidate over another?
